This'll be quick.
Just wanted to thank Sen. Barack Obama for his wonderful showing last night, and for putting an end to this race (for all practical purposes).
I have great admiration for Sen. Clinton, and would have supported her had she won the nomination. Whatever concerns I had with her conduct in this campaign are no longer important, as long as she no longer seeks to undermine Sen. Obama's candidacy and embraces him when the time comes.
I have supported Barack Obama since his declaration in Springfield. The past few weeks were some of the hardest to watch, and yet he rose above it all to make his lead in the popular vote as insurmountable as his lead in pledged delegates.
It is over. Whenever Sen. Clinton intends to gracefully bow out, she must know that now.
Today, Barack Obama gets to begin his campaign against John McCain in earnest, and we Democrats may finally begin to recover from the wrenching quest of electing our nominee.
I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present.
